Released in celebration of Ella Fitzgerald’s birthday, Lisa Shaw returns with a special tribute, re-imagining Ella’s classic jazz standard “Night and Day” with Miguel Migs on production.

Lisa’s sultry vocal sits right at the center, warm and expressive with a jazzy touch, carrying the feeling of the original while making it fully her own. As she shares, “Ella is all about feeling, and every song she did brings you into her world,” and that sense of connection comes through clearly in her delivery here.

Migs builds a smooth, groove-led foundation around the vocal, as vibrant keys are supported by deep bass and atmospheric textures that give it a refined, flowing feel. Creating a late-night vibe that feels both grounded and timeless.

Inspired by Diane Richards’ Ella: A Novel, with artwork drawn from the book and original illustration by Hélène Baum-Owoyele, and in collaboration with Serendipity Literary Agency, the release connects the story and the music in a way that reflects Ella’s influence across both, bringing her voice into a new space while staying rooted in the feeling that made it timeless.
